There is a special challenge to illustrating biological processes at the cellular level and deeper. The visual medical and scientific vocabulary is fascinating, and artistic license can enter a bit more in the arrangement of information-dense medical, and scientific, charts and diagrams.

Medical device illustration demands scrupulous attention to the clients' specifications so the technology is accurately illustrated. Device illustrations may be produced for a variety of purposes— trade shows, product instructions for use, editorial, in-house educational, or for investor relations and marketing materials.
